My Pet Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1996. The founder,
Barbara Sprafkin, who passed away in September 2006, loved "all creatures
great and small" (James Herriot). Over a ten year period, Barbara
built a wonderful company based on her creativity, passion, and insistence
on providing her pets and those of her friends, extended family, and
eventually thousands of clients, with the highest quality of products
possible. Per Barbara and her family’s wishes, the next generation
of Sprafkins is carrying on Barbara’s mission and we would like to share
with you below the story of how Barbara started My Pet Enterprises, Inc.
and how she has left her stamp of approval as the company continues to
grow and expand:
Barbara Sprafkin had two wonderful doggys, JD and Patcho, and wanted
to find the best treats for them.
When she looked at the marketplace, healthy treats just didn't exist.
Barbara's requirements were that the treats be all natural, no additives of
any kind, that the doggys love them and that they were beneficial to the
health and well being of the doggys.
Because nothing she saw was really good enough for her doggys, she created
her own cookies and found bones, chews, and other tasty treats that were all
natural, no rawhide! She subsequently created collars and leashes and dry
shampoo - every item that she created and/or sold was based on her own doggys'
needs as well as her insistence that everything needed to be of
the best quality and make.
To reflect this, the My Doggy Paw of Approval® is stamped on every product
to guarantee what we provide is the best for our pet friends.
